Ralph Ellison begins "Board Game Tuesdays", encouraging customers of all ages to participate in various board and card games each week. 2011/November

Ralph Ellison held a Guys' Night which was a night for guys of all ages to bond through playing video games, board games, and socially interacting. 2010/September
Ralph Ellison holds a Juneteenth celebration where thousands of people took part in festivities such as a health fair, story times, face painting, author book signings, concerts, and other cultural activities. 2010/June
Ralph Ellison hosted an expert from the Herpetologial Society to talk to kids and teens about having a snake as a pet. It was an informative, fun, and out of the box experience as snakes were present and kids and teens were able to touch them. 2010/September
Ralph Ellison hosts a Scrabble Challenge that was well received with 10 individuals participating. At the request of the participants this will become a monthly event. 2010/September
Ralph Ellison librarian Jean Longo set up two gaming tables at Langston University's Jubilee Night. Parents and children were able to play games and see that the library can be a fun and social place. 2010/February
Ralph Ellison librarians, Anna Todd and Taryn Kingery, created college prep web pages that were added to the Teen Space page in order to help those interested in furthering their education find information about college online. 2010/September
Ralph Ellison Library built a partnership with a local AARP chapter to provide snacks to children and teens on a daily basis during the Summer months of June and July. 2011/July
