SH 650.1 Employee Dress Code Guidelines

There have been several questions recently about whether jeans may be worn every day during June and July.  Rather than answering this question each year before summer reading, we are updating the employee dress code to define attire that includes that time-frame.  While updating that portion of the procedure, we are also utilizing the opportunity to update the definitions for items #7 and #8 as follows:

7.  Pre-approved Employees

  • Jeans may be worn with an appropriate top as defined in #3 or t-shirt or sweatshirt that has a library logo or has a literary tie-in and/or is literature-inspired

8.  Casual Friday, Saturday, Sunday, summer reading program from June 1- July 31 Attire and late opening due to inclement weather

  • On casual Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, summer reading program from June 1 – July 31, late opening due to inclement weather only, jeans may be worn by any MLS employee.  Jeans may be worn with an appropriate top as defined in #3 or t-shirt or sweatshirt that has a library logo or has a literary tie-in and/or is literature-inspired.

Please review to familiarize yourself with the updated SH 650.1 Employee Dress Code Guidelines, May 2018 revision, which is available on the Intranet, and is effective on June 1, 2018.
