Proposed changes to the materials policy AM 310

All staff, following are two documents for the Collection Policy Review. The first document provides background for the policy review and the second is the draft revised policy. AS 400 Internet Access Policy

The Metropolitan Library Commission and/or the Library System assume no responsibility for use of the Internet by library customers of any age. Internet users must agree to abide by all library policies and procedures.

AM 110 Delinquent/Lost/Damaged Materials

This policy has been repealed and merged into AM 100 Borrowing as of July 2017.

AM 100 Borrowing

  1. To borrow materials, guests must be registered Metropolitan Library System account holders without a block on their account. Guests may not register for more than 1 account.
  2. Maximum Items Borrowed
    1. For most accounts, a maximum of 100 physical items can be on loan at once; ONEcard account holders may have a maximum of 10 physical items on loan at once.

Metropolitan Library System welcomes every member of the community to use and enjoy the Library’s facilities, collections, programs, and services. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and pleasant place for education and enrichment where all individuals are respected.

To create a welcoming environment within the library, guests will:

AL 211 Reciprocal Cards

This policy has been repealed and merged into AL 200 Library Accounts as of July 2017.
 

AL 200 Library Accounts

  1. Individuals must complete an application and provide proof of identity to register for a Library account.
     
  2. Account Types
    1. Primary Accounts: Individuals eligible for primary accounts must reside or own real estate within the service area or be employed by the Metropolitan Library System. (See AL 100 Service Area). Accounts issued under this provision are valid for three years and are eligible for autorenewal.

AL 100 Service Area

In accordance with the Metropolitan Library Act Title 65 O.S. §552-553, 559 (see VG 310 Metropolitan Library Act), the Metropolitan Library System serves the entire Oklahoma County area plus all areas within the official Oklahoma City limits.   

The Metropolitan Library Commission authorizes the executive director to establish procedures to administer this policy.
