Literary Voices 2012
The Development Office assisted in planning the April 10, 2012, Literary Voices author dinner featuring legendary suspense novelist Mary Higgins Clark. The dinner is a major fundraising event for the Library Endowment Trust and was attended by 350 sponsors, patrons, and individuals. The 2012 event raised over $63,000 for the Library Endowment Trust. The Trust also honored Library Commissioner Hugh Rice at the dinner by presenting him with the Lee B. Brawner Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant support of libraries and literacy. During her visit to Oklahoma City, Mary Higgins Clark also filmed an interview at the Downtown Library for use in the “Share Your Stories” project where she discussed her life and career and the impact of books and reading on individuals’ lives.
