The Edmond Library supports a great group of teen volunteers (and parents); They work with the volunteers to instill a good work ethic in the teens through training so they have some work experience before they look for their first job. 2010/July
The Edmond Library surveys adult customers to gauge interest in starting new book clubs; many of the surveys were returned with positive comments so they are exploring various options. 2010/May
The Edmond Library's second History Book Club meeting attracts 70 people to this unique and interactive program. The program has exceptionally broad appeal, with ages spanning from college students to senior citizens attending. 2010/November
The entire Edmond Library was festive for the start of the Summer Reading Program; we included adults by doing a lobby display of water-related books. It was a great way to highlight a section of our collection. 2010/June
The exterior of the Warr Acres library was painted a new color. The interior received a fresh coat of paint as well. 2010/May
The film Twelve is presented at the Belle Isle Library which shows life and hope following addiction for teens and adults. 2009/October
The first Annual Children's Metro Music Fest was held the final week of Summer at the Library. This was a week of terrific children's music with seven different bands playing all over the library system with over 1300 people attending. 2009/July
The first quarterly MLS Circulation Forum Meeting was held on November 4th. The meetings are an opportunity for circulation staff to interact and share, learn more about MLS policies and procedures, and hear first-hand news about the system. 2009/November
The friends donated $160,000 of the money raised at the 2010 booksale directly to MLS in the form of grants. 2010/February
The Friends of the Library help bring notable author Carolyn Hart to Oklahoma for interactive programs at several of our libraries. 2009/February

The Friends of the Library provides funds for a group of young adult librarians to attend a symposium on young adult literature. 2010/July
The Friends of the Village Library Fair is held to raise money to fund special library projects 2009/May
The Hill Irish Dance School presents the traditional music and dances of Ireland as a program for families at the Belle Isle Library. 2010/April
The Hobbit - Events for Teens 2012/November
The interior of the Village Library receives a new coat of paint for the first time since opening in 1990. The zones of the library are painted green, blue and red for children's, teen, and adult. 2010/March
The International Festival welcomes hundreds for a variety of performance, food, arts and crafts from across the globe. 2011/April
The Joy of Mozart series begins bringing piano performances to several libraries 2008/June
The Leadership III class is announced. 2009/April
The Learning artwork donated by the Norick Foundation is unveiled in the DN children's area. 2009/April
The Library Endowment Trust brought bestselling author Harlan Coben to the Downtown Library for the public Author Confidential lectur, Q&A, and book-signing. 2010/April
The Library Endowment Trust funds for a selection committee to commission public art at the Ralph Ellison Library. 2010/May
The Library Endowment Trust provides $25,000 in grants for Summer at the Libray and Winter ReadFest 2009/June
The Marketing department wins top honors at the ALA conference for our outstanding INFO magazine. 2010/June
The Metro String Holiday Quartet performs music for the holiday season at the Belle Isle Library. 2009/December
