Ralph Ellison Library moves to temporary location during renovations 2008/August
Ralph Ellison Library offered a Skype talk with bestselling young adult author, Earl Sewell. Young adults and adults who attended were able to interact with an author in a virtual environment while learning about writing. 2011/August
Ralph Ellison Library partners with AARP volunteers to provide afternoon snacks each day for children and teens visiting the library. 2011/June
Ralph Ellison Library partners with Planned Parenthood to offer a program titled Straight Talk, geared toward tweens and teens and focusing on builiding healthy relationships and sexual health. 2012/March
Ralph Ellison Library partners with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center to hold a Children's Health Fair. 2012/April
Ralph Ellison provides a senior program called How Does Health Care Reform Affect You? A volunteer from AARP came and spoke to us about the Health Care Reform bill. Individuals were allowed to ask questions. 2010/May
RE Librarian Kim Ventrella is contributes a book review to School Library Journal 2008/October
RE presents a Juneteenth celebration at Douglas High School. 2009/June
RE sponsers the Heroes and Villains art contest in conjunction with the OKC Museum of Art. 2009/May
Reading Readiness workshops held at Midwest City and Village Libraries. 2010/August
Reading to Dogs programs encourage children to read. 1,739 children attend these programs offered at severals libraries throughout the year. 2008/July
Reduxion Theatre presents "The Shakespeare Connexion" which includes workshops on comedic stage combat, the language of Shakespeare, and improvising Shakespeare. 2011/October
Reference collection interfiled into regular nonfiction for greater accessiblity. 2011/December

Representatives of the Capitol Hill Library participated in the annual Hispanic Expo on July 31st. Customers enjoyed a variety of activities which included a free book for the children. Altogether we reached approx. 2000 customers. 2010/July

Revenue from usage of the meeting rooms at the Downtown Library is up by 25% over last year 2009/June
Rhythmically Speaking performs The Way it Was: Oklahoma's Soulful Stories around the system for 835 people. 2010/February
Rhythmically Speaking, Hidden Soldier: I just need a JOB performed for Black History Month at our libraries and 1,141 people attend 2008/February
Ric Rea and Roy Ballou attended OCHRS Legal Seminar to learn about recent updates in wage and hours laws, FMLA, OSHA enforcement, immigration law, healthcare reform, and workers’ compensation updates. 2010/September
RSS feeds added to our website allowing customers to be updated on MLS news, events and catalog additions 2008/September
