Provided feedback to MSL

Training and information will be provided for staff on new databases and materials formats to ensure that they are able to effectively assist customers with new library resources.  Several staff members have participated in the database trials and provided feedback to MSL.

Attend various workshops

  • All Circulation staff attended the Circulation Forum twice during the year. After attending, they shared their knowledge with the rest of the Bethany Library staff during staff meetings.
  • Janet Bowen, Dustin Chandler, and Laura Moody attended the Prepare Training.
  • Dustin Chandler, Laura Moody, and Donna Durbin attended the V-Circ and Got Cards Workshop.
  • Dustin Chandler and Laura Moody attended the True Colors Workshop.
  • Debbie McPherson attended the Volunteer Workshop.

Diabetes Workshop Well Attended

Over 30 people attended the diabetes workshop at CT.

Library Event coordinator

A position was created and piloted at NW and Downtown for a Library Event Coordinator in order to take care of programming needs. This allows for the Librarian's time to be freed up in order to allow for better service to the customer.

No More Slips, Trips, or Broken Hips

An program in partnership with Integris Baptist third Age Life Center to prevent falling and broken bones in primarily senior citizens but applicable to all ages. Presented at four b ranches during October and November 2012.

Build Your Own Business

A program in partnership with Small Business and SCORE helping customers prepare and plan to own their own businesses. Free seminar and workshops often follow. This program repeats at all of the libraries through out the year.

Oklahoma City Area Library System’s Summer Reading Program is Under Way

Last year, 20000 kids participated in the summer reading program sponsored by the Metropolitan Library System, which serves the Oklahoma City area.
