- Implementation after the Committee meeting.
- Review Incidents/Accidents. No vehicle accidents. Five new customer incidents to report. Reviewed recent customer issues.
- Fire Drills/Evacuation Plans—Dennis is continuing to work on setting these up with local fire departments to set up fire drills.
- When the weather warms up, we’ll plan more drills.
- Some managers working with local fire officials to help establish communication.
- If fire departments can’t be organized to participate, Dennis will oversee the drills.
- Goal of doing these 2x/year, then working up to quarterly, with different scenarios.
- Drug Use in the Library by Guests—Dennis, Steve, and I have been looking at issues with guests using drugs in library restrooms. They are leaving residue and a strong odor. We need to look at the best way to clean up these areas when we discover them.
- Working on a plan to address issues of this nature.
- Paraphernalia in restrooms, residue from drugs, etc.
- Issues predominately at DN.
- Cordon off restroom for at least 30 minutes. Use yellow caution tape.
- Air out impacted area (preferably overnight), and have janitorial crew clean when they can.
- Approach similar to COVID space-sanitizing response.
- Caution is necessary, particularly if paraphernalia is observed. However, simply encountering a smell in a space where a substance has been used is not dangerous for most people.
- Working on a plan to address issues of this nature.
- New Sorter for NW—This is expected soon. Found out that it will be set up for employees to stand around it, and not able to sit down while using it.
- Sit-down model no longer available.
- Ergonomic review of models.
- Chemical Inventory Lists—need to update these for all locations. When do we want to do this?
- We will need to make sure that we have current MSDS sheets for all currently-used chemicals.
- Inventory slated to come in May.
- Safety Meeting Topic for February/March—What do we want to send out to the managers to discuss?
- Adverse weather selected as topic.
- Audits/walk-through: Will be conducting walk-through here today.
- Group walked through Belle Isle to review the space.
- Feedback mostly positive. CompSource reps noted the facility is in great shape overall. Found only a couple of minor issues to fix.
