Program Description: 
Handmade soaps are exciting to use and create! Join us for a cold-process soap making demonstration(soap made from scratch)using only natural fragrances, colorants and texture additives. The workshop will include information on different kinds of oils and botanical additives and the special properties they give to the soap. You will learn to make soap creations to use for yourself, give as gifts, or to display in your home or office. Soap making is a fun craft and hobby. There are so many varieties imaginable all your have to do is begin! Participants will get to take home a free soap sample. Check out our books on soap making while you are in the library.

Handmade soaps are exciting to use and to create. You know exactly what goes into them and what is going on your body. You can make a bar that exactly suits your personal needs. You can also make bars to give away as gifts for any occasion or just to display in your home or office. Soap making is a well-respected craft and hobby. It can be as easy or as complex as you choose to make it. There are so may varieties imaginable so all you have to do is begin! Classes generally run 1 1/2 hours with questions and clean up

Final Comments: 
We had a handmade soap making program at our library previously and it was very well received and attended. Numerous books were checked out on the subject and also related material checked out.
