Joy & Gladness Soaps & Other Creations from the Heart: "I learned to make soap, lip glosses, lotions and photo albums while living in Boston over 7 years ago. I taught myself how to make candles around the same time. In 2005, I moved back to Oklahoma and quickly looked for places to improve on my skills and craft but realized that there were no instructional classes nearby that I could locate. That is when I decided to teach others what I had learned , in hopes to bring more attention to these hobbies and encourage growth of them in my area. As far as my current classes go, I have taught mostly soap and candle making. These classes generally consist of demonstration with some light class participation. As classes progress, I hope to have more participation depending on the age group, etc. in the classes. I enjoy working with the libraries and librarians in the MLS and also enjoy teaching new crafts/hobbies to the patrons. It is exciting to see them engaged and learning new things so they can try creating these items for themselves or to teach others. This is where my passion rests and I feel very blessed to be able to do it!
