Manager Comments:
This is great! I totally agree that some of the excitement is lost by going to a digital SR process. I love the idea of a party at the end of the year to celebrate, print certificates and try to get most of the final incentives handed out.

Program Justification
Is a program the best way to meet the expressed need or present information?:
Yes
Does the program fit the goals of the MLS?:
Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
SRP gives us the opportunity to celebrate lifelong learning and allow our customers to connect with one another over their love of books. This event will continue that while creating a clear end point that SRP doesn't typically have. Having a closing ceremony will help customers and volunteers to conceptualize Summer Reading as a whole and create one last opportunity for individuals to pick up incentives before we send the items back to the service center.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.
Why will this program be successful?:
Other libraries have offered such programs with great success. It is filling a need that customers have previously expressed.
How will success be measured/determined?:
Attendance, enjoyment, customer satisfaction.
