Type of Pilot Project:
Public Service
Additional Contributors:
Kellie Delaney
Describe Project and Impact:
Create and curate a collection of stories from the humans who live within Oklahoma County
Project Description and Expected Outcomes:
Using the popular “Humans of New York” model, create a web series/social media campaign featuring the people of Oklahoma County. Sharing Oklahoma County stories of inspiration, love, hope, struggle, and sadness to capture what it really means for us to live in Oklahoma County. The product would become a separate collection within the Oklahoma Collection.
Selected stories could be published as a book under the Metropolitan Library System imprint, Park Hudson Press.
Why should we select this project?:
Our members read thousands of stories every year. It is time for their own stories to be told and shared.
Constraints, Limitations, or Dependencies:
Staff time and coordination would be largest investment. Expectations are that the project would be crowdsourced with volunteers and some staff collecting the stories and photographs.
