Facilities Maintenance Related Projects
Northwest Library – The City of Oklahoma City awarded the design of the window shades to Studio Architecture. We anticipate this project will be bid out by the City of Oklahoma City and awarded to a contractor in the 1st quarter of 2020.
Village Library Water Issue– We have a proposal for $1,000 from Terracon Engineering to study the cause of the water issue and to formally document our concerns to ensure an adequate resolution to the water issue causing issues with the new carpet from the 2019 Renovation. Steve is coordinating with Jason to pick a date for this testing to happen in order to minimize customer disruption.
Midwest City Restroom Renovation – We are waiting on a proposal from Sam Moore, Architect for the design development for the $100,000 planned renovation to the public restrooms at the Midwest City Library.
Community Library Restroom ADA/Assessment - We are working to begin the process of selecting an architect for the assessment of the community libraries restroom to determine what modifications/upgrades are needed for ADA compliance. $50,000 has been set aside in FY2020 for this project.
LED Lighting Upgrades - $50,000 has been set aside in FY2020 for LED lighting upgrades. Our focus in FY2020 is to address lighting at the Village and Midwest City Libraries.
Capital Projects
Edmond HVAC – The project is underway and is scheduled for completion in mid-March 2020. We are working with ADG on furniture selection to replace the reference desk and related seating. A workgroup is meeting to discuss the re-opening process. Discussion took place between Edmond staff present at the meeting and other departmental staff to begin planning for the re-open date, along with tasks which need to take place prior to re-opening.
Del City – Construction/site work is in progress on SE 15th Street. The new Library construction is scheduled for completion in the late Fall of 2020.
Temporary Belle Isle Library Location – We signed an hourly fee/not to exceed $24,000 proposal/contract with ADG for the interior design/space planning/development of the temporary Library location. This proposal includes interior design, construction drawings, and mechanical engineering services from CEC Mechanical Engineers. We have been informed that for building occupancy purposes we will need to add one more public restroom. We expect to have initial plans from ADG by late February/early March 2020.
Belle Isle Renovation/Addition – We met with the City of Oklahoma City and ADG on February 7th to review and discuss add alternates in case the project comes in over budget when it goes out to bid. ADG is working on construction documents and plans to submit them to the City in April 2020. At this time, it is anticipated that construction would begin in the Summer 2020 on the renovated/expansion for the Library.
