  • Safe – let Erin know if your location cannot fit the whole money drawer in your safe.  Research is being conducted into finding a possible solution.

 

“Interesting, Weird, or Scary” 

  • Various locations shared recent unusual incidents that they experienced.

 

 

 

Susan updates

  • Susan plans to begin libraries more frequently in January after the new CEO begins. 
  • No Commission Meetings last two months.  Anticipate January Meeting.
  • PD pay increases happen in December

 

Security updates - Dennis 

  • Waiting on cameras to arrive for DN, will also be installing new cameras at NW
  • Security Officers Change frequently – if you have any problems, please contact Dennis so he can address it.
  • Alarm Systems – Security Dept periodically test the systems. Do you know the code word?  If not, ask.
  • New position submitted to HUM – Tech 1.

 

Aliases and Special Stops - Mark 

  • Many of our guests use multiple names.  Put a special stop on all names in Carl.  Do not delete or merge accounts, put a special stop on each account.

 

IT Budget Requests - Mark 

  • Schedule IT budget requests now.  Reach out to Tim Whisenhunt.

 

 

Diversity training takeaway discussion – Tracie 

  • Tracie led a discussion on different scenarios presented in the MetroU training
  • As librarians, we can point people to resources

 

Trauma-Informed scenario 3 – Mark 

  • Discussion regarding Odor “Body Odor” in particular
  • Separate the behavior from the person
  • Use “I” language, “I’ve noticed” take ownership of the statement you are making.
  • Provide resources when appropriate.

 

 

EDY update (construction, hiring timeline, staff makeup) - Tracie 

  • Looking to hire 27 staff
  • Building process has begun
  • Discussions are happening on furniture, fixtures, carpet
  • Projected Opening date is before Summer Reading 2026

 

Meeting schedule for 2025 – Erin 

  • Schedule is located in GSM share point - PS Managers Mtg Rotation
  • No PD meetings for managers scheduled for 2025

 

Discovery Backpacks – Kim 

  • Please communicate issues to OES via email, including request for extras
  • Send emails for missing parts to EPS

 

OES Restructuring/Open Positions - Kim 

  • Interviews for Adult Services Manager soon
  • Applications open for three outreach librarian positions, one focusing on each age-specific audience (children/teen/adults)

 

 

 

Location Sharing 

BI – Daniel Chesney will start Jan 6 as Branch Manager

CIS – Do not delete room reservations, building up pool of Read-a-likes

RE – looking forward to building projects and shelving project

DC – Outreach events have brought in new library card accounts

AL – Joy Fest, STEM Librarian is planning programs, interviews for open FTE

ED – new sorter in January, small statue of EDY on display

BE – Smithsonian Exhibit – Grand Opening Dec 14th

OES – Winter Reading going on, Spanish Language Bingo cards are going to printer this week, Mugs will go out soon, Summer Reading planning started, Programming Planning anticipated coming out in January.

VI – Roof work nearing the end, Holiday programs, Adult take home kits popular

SO – Heating Issues, House plant swap successful, Children’s Holiday shop

Tracie – OLA presentation programming on Genealogy and Hunger Free Oklahoma Summer meals at libraries,

WA – New Security Officer, Holiday/Christmas programs,

CH – successful community resource fair, outreach successful, 6-week citizenship class in 2025, starting afterschool feeding program

DN – Atrium is decorated for Holidays, ASMII position posted, housing interns with Homeless Alliance successful, shelving shifting, going from 32 to 40 computer tables, outdoor lockers to be installed this Spring.

MWC – Chiller installed, finished Stack Map labeling, attended STEM outreach at Rose state, MWC approved new YMCA close to library

SEC – Talk down system on a new platform with automated emails to managers,

CL – Interviews for new manager soon, new furniture and shelving for locations

NW – ASL Santa, Carols and Crafts, generous donation allows for replacing lounge chairs.
