Items for Discussion:

  • Assign committee member to take/post meeting minutes; LaVetta Dent volunteered, if others will fill in any information I might leave out.  LaVetta will post to Intranet.
  • Discuss frequency of future meetings & new composition of committee; Next meeting will be March 24 at 2:00pm, Wednesday afternoon
  • Introduce Brandon Brady with CompSource to group; Brandon Brady is part of CompSource Safety and Loss Prevention. Group introductions followed.
  • Update on workers’ compensation injuries Stephany – Gave an update on the workers’ compensation, there are three currently active cases, and three closing cases.

Communication needs to be a big part of prevention, touring libraries is one piece to improve safety communication, going to Xchange meetings.

  • Discuss location evacuation maps and status Anthony – Reported that Steve Butts is working on this and will have them to use shortly, in approximately one month.
  • Discuss Safety Manual-Draft Update and Action Plan for final review. Brandon Brady offered for CompSource to help with finalizing our Safety Manual. This will be available to give new staff at NEO.

Brandon Brady from CompSource has trainings to offer, by CompSource, or help us create our own.

  • Locations & Departments need to complete hazardous chemical inventory lists, fire safety protocols, & evacuation plans by 2/19/2021

Libraries will need to help with hazardous chemical inventory lists and MSDS sheets and updating fire safety protocols. An email will go out soon/next couple of weeks.

  • Discuss walk-through or written checklist for inspections during COVID

Safety Committee discussed doing walk-through using written checklist, like Quarterly Facilities Checklist

  • Review of COVID protocols

Discussion followed about how COVID protocols are working and how staff are reacting. The consensus was that it has been going well, and everyone appreciates the open communication from Larry, on this topic, which has helped.
