Resource Sheet from Homeless Alliance Workshop 

  • EPS discussed the best way to share a Resource Sheet that was provided to attendees at recent Metro trainings by the Homeless Alliance and shared with EPS by Ruth Smith, Engagement Manager at SO. 
  • Jessica will upload this document to a SharePoint Archive and share the link with all programmers via email. Engagement staff will be encouraged to post additional community resource handouts to the SharePoint Archive. 

Cabinet Reports

  • Children’s Cabinet
    • The next Children’s Cabinet meeting is scheduled for May 2 and the agenda will include Summer Reading Training and a tour of the Community Libraries.
  • Teen Cabinet
    • The Teen Cabinet met on April 18 for a tour of the Community Libraries and to discuss the Cabinet’s progress with data collection for their community needs assessment.
    • The next Teen Cabinet meeting is scheduled for May 9 and the agenda will include Summer Reading Training. 
  • Adult Cabinet 
    • The next Adult Cabinet meeting is scheduled for May 1 and the agenda will include Summer Reading Training.  

Summer Reading Training

  • Jessica to send an email to all Library Managers on behalf of EPS to communicate the expectation that all Engagement Managers will take back the information they learn at their in-person Summer Reading training with EPS in early May and share their knowledge with their location’s Library Manager and Access Manager(s). Together, Engagement and Access Managers should ensure that their location’s staff members feel confident in their understanding of the Summer Reading Program. 

Next Steps for Phase 1 (Gathering Information) and Phase 2 (Determining Outcomes) of OBPE

  • Morgan Jones, Manager of Planning and Assessment, and Jennifer Livingstone, Data Analyst, met with EPS staff to discuss how P&A can best help facilitate the Cabinets’ community needs assessment project.
  • Jennifer and Morgan will be developing a set of critical thinking questions for Cabinet members to consider as a part of their data collection process. 
  • EPS and P&A set the following deadlines to complete Phase 1 and 2 of the OBPE process:
    • Friday, May 11-Data Collection by Cabinet Members Complete
    • Friday, May 25-EPS Review of Data Collection Complete 
    • Wednesday, May 30-EPS and P&A to meet to identify Needs and desired Outcomes
  • Melody to send an email to all LMs and EMs to provide a Cabinet and Engagement update the week of April 23. 
  • Jessica to send a follow-up to all EMs regarding the final steps of the data gathering process the week of April 23.
