Incentives to Read - November 24th, 2014

Reports on agenda items

LaVetta

1. Contact with Ronald McDonald Foundation, we are considering possibility of creating a “goal 3” where participants who read beyond goal 2 can earn a book for the charity.
2. Has needed numbers for “Read for 20”buttons, MAC has 100 ready to go.
3. Explanations of drawing gifts – will ask programming librarians to research and write up extra information to share with winners.
4. Teen volunteers could take thank you photos for sponsors.

Emily

1. School numbers—working on compiling updated number of students in the library’s service area. Information about the summer reading program is printed, mailed, and distributed to every student.
2. Met with Kellie & Tim, decided on #ireadfor20 hashtag for social media use in 2015.
3. Kellie is working on software tracking needs.
4. Summer reading intern grant at Edmond – checking with HUM about possibility.

Kristin

1. Goal 1 & 2 prizes for adults—post-it note books, getting quotes from IPGI and others.
2. Superhero cutouts for photo opportunities in libraries-- provided options, will look at hats, capes, logos, etc.

Erin

1. Fine waivers – $6, extend expiration date to 9/30, discussed issues with POS vs. CarlX, will modify info on back to include date and library.

Kay

1. Language sent to DVS for donors.
2. Waiting to hear from IT on potential use of our existing monitors for summer reading display use.
3. How to track Goal 3/Pay-it-forward on Summer Reader- committee will read options from Kellie and discuss on Basecamp, ask questions as needed.
4. Photo services – Kay needs to talk to IT, plus look into issues with money/locations, will want it to work before Summer Reading, assess needs.
5. MAC – need language for postcards and bookmarks
