Preview and test our Frequently Asked Questions page

On Monday, April 4 11, we will debut a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page on our website that will allow anyone to search for answers to common questions that we frequently receive (e.g. How do I log in to my account? Can I renew an eBook?). The FAQ is located at help.metrolibrary.org and once we go live with it, it can be found by clicking the green Questions/Help button (which currently redirects to the Ask a Librarian form) that is at the top right of metrolibrary.org pages. The Email Us link on the FAQ directs users to the Ask a Librarian form in case they don't find their answer in the FAQ and/or would prefer to contact us via the form.

The FAQ is searchable in a number of ways. In the search box at the top right of the FAQ homepage, as a question is entered, suggested answers will appear on the page in a fashion similar to how Google and Bing use search predictions. The FAQ Topics column on the right side of the page categorizes answers into subject headings so, for example, if a user wanted to see all the FAQs about Freegal, they could click the Freegal link. Below the FAQ Topics section is a tag cloud, which is a collection of all of the tags in the FAQ. Each question and answer is described with one or more "tags" based on the contents of the question and answer. The more entries in the FAQ containing a particular tag, the larger the tag's appearance in the tag cloud. The tag cloud is a visual representation of the contents of the FAQ.

Before we go live, we'd like for YOU to explore the FAQ so you can familiarize yourself with its contents and its interface and even suggest a question and answer for the FAQ that isn't currently address and which would be helpful for users. You can suggest a question and answer or provide feedback via the green Question Suggestion button at the top right of the FAQ. You can also provide feedback via the thumbs up or thumbs down icon for each answer based on its helpfulness in answering the question but if you choose thumbs down, will you please use the Question Suggestion button to elaborate on your feedback?

We will go live with the FAQ on Monday, April 4 11 so please submit any feedback by that date. Thanks for your help with this project and we hope it will be a great resource for you and for our members!
