Summer Reading Advertising

This summer, we're doing a lot of Summer Reading advertising as well as zoom interviews with TV stations. I just finished doing a zoom interview that will air on Telemundo this weekend, and Tuesday both Kristin Williamson and I will be talking Summer Reading with KOCO and KFOR. Attached is a document showing all the places we will be advertsing this summer: TV & radio stations, newspapers, billboards, and a direct mailer to a couple of specific zip codes. You can also check out the new Summer Reading tv commercial - which is in both English and Spanish.

Bookmarks vs. "Rack Cards"

Because many locations have those acrylic brochure holders, we are experimenting on doing larger bookmarks that will fit in those holders. You may hear us refer to them as "Rack Cards". Rack cards are typically 4 by 9 inches in size. I would love to hear your thoughts about this, and what the customers think when we start. Our first one will come out sometime next week and will be for Brainfuse.

Macmillian

Beginning November 1, 2019, Macmillan Publishers will allow libraries to purchase only one copy of each new eBook title for the first eight weeks after a book’s release. This applies to systems as well, so we will only be able to get one copy for the entire system of a new Macmillan book until the eight weeks is up. I will be sending the following email to our customers who have used Overdrive so that they are aware. ALA created a website for a petition to sign in hopes that it would stop Macmillan from doing this. If you wish to sign it, feel free - ebooksforall.org.
