Confusion on a question

Will the people who are Aides right now still get to work flexible schedules? (i.e. something other than 20 or 40 hours per week)

Yes, a review of the variable employee category is not within the specific scope of the Alignment Project.

this question is on the FAQs but the answer is confusing because I'm not sure what is meant by variable employee category. LAs are changing to Access Specialist I so they are within the scope. Did you mean the hours they work isn't changing?

Hi Debbie, thanks for the

Hi Debbie, thanks for the question. All of the Library Aides will be mapped to Access Specialist I positions, and -- just as the Library Aide positions have been categorized as "variable hour employees" in the past -- so too will be the Access Specialist I position. The Q&A answer is accurate, because -- while we are changing some of the duties and the titles of the Library Aides -- we are not doing anything to alter their category as variable hour employees. Make sense?
