I couldn't get these photos to attach to my reply in the conversation that was had about putting up a goal thermometer, but I took care of that yesterday and wanted to share a photo! It is right beside the sorter so members are already stopped or waiting and now have something to looks at. As I was drawing it, I had a ton of awesome conversations with members that resulted in Summer Reading signups!
Is anyone else creating visuals for minutes read?

Bridget, this looks great! Really clever to use the glass for displaying the visual - and probably a time-saver, too, since it's easy to change.
Bridget! I love it!!
Thanks, Bridget, for sharing your idea. It looks good in the window!
Sounds and looks like this is a great conversation starter! I think including a call to action is important and in this case you're encouraging members to ask how to join in. Also, thank you for including a call to action for staff to share on this forum. I'm looking forward to seeing those contributions as well.
I love this, Bridget! You and Laura have inspired us to create something similar here at Southern Oaks. We will be drawing out a goal thermometer on butcher paper and posting it front and center for our members to see when they walk in our building. Thank you for the clever idea!
I would love to see it!
I love using the glass.
We used one of our taller displays and built a book stack in the middle with signage about building a Minutes Mountain and encouraging folks to log their minutes and to help us reach our goal.
I think having those visual keys really helps start the conversation with our members.
I want to see your minutes mountain!
I can, I just didn't want to start a new thread for just those pictures as we can't add Jpgs when commenting on a thread. Unless there is a trick to doing this that I don't know about?
I am not sure. You can email me the pictures and I will include them in a post next week so we can see all the great visuals.
Love your thermometer visual! You guys did a really good job even getting the shading in there. What a great way to get the members excited!
