Summer Reading Steering Committee Minutes - December 19, 2022
Introductions – Emily
Subcommittee Reports (detailed minutes attached)
Library (In-Library & On-Site) Engagement – Kristin – Everyone tasked with 2-4 ideas for toolkit and 2-4 items for displays/passive programs. Goal is to have toolkit ready the first week of March. Supply catalog will be done by end of January for libraries to order from in mid-February. Contacting mural artist for collaborative project possibility.
Community & School Engagement – Elisabeth – Talked through different tasks, will move teacher training from Niche Academy to new platform and offer small swag prizes, contacting school districts about spring meetings, school commercials will be coming, toolkit will be on SharePoint again – look at ways for Access staff to have permissions, working on Read It Forward recipient selection.
Logistics – Emily – team will ramp up in March/April, not meeting until February.
Staff & Volunteer Engagement – Jessica - Our subcommittee met on Nov 29 and are slated to meet again in early Jan. At our first meeting we reviewed the history of our subcommittee, discussed roles for each team member, talked about the time commitment, scheduled out all our upcoming meetings, and started to brainstorm ideas for improvement for training, volunteers, and communications.
Program Engagement – Emily – working on a plan for updating Beanstack, outlined the SR23 marketing request and prize budget, took first steps on the Scholastic book order, sent out the school list to staff for updates, talking about systemwide programming options and likelihood of having libraries contact providers directly to schedule, reviewed CSLP Summer Symposium.
Next SRSC meeting is January 23 at 1pm.
