Construction Updates - March 5, 2014
- CAPITOL HILL
- OKC and MLS met on March 4th to review the process and the progress of securing full funding for the CH project. While there remain a number of hurdles, we are making progress. We expect to complete the next phase within the next 30 to 45 days.
- On 3/4/14, OKC and MLS also reviewed the impact of the funding process on the start of the design work. This ultimately controls when MLS will need to move out of CH. At present, 2 scenarios are considered likely; either last spring of 2015 or after summer reading.
- DEL CITY
- YEA - Demolition of the bowling alley was completed on 2/28/14. For additional info and photos, go to http://my.metrolibrary.info/drupal/construction/new-del-city-location-demolition.
- The MLS -CON office continues to work on drafts of the Library Program; an updated Budget, a Request for Architect’s Qualifications and a Lease, all of which will be presented to Del City.
- EDMOND PARKING
- The 99% concept plans and estimate were reviewed on 2/19.
- Edmond has presented draft Agreement for this work. The goal remains to present to the MLC on March 20th.
- JONES
- The Design Development plans, which represent the 2nd 1/3 of the design process, are still expected March 24th.
- NORTHWEST
- OKC officially accepted the Northwest library on February 25, 2014. In conversation with OKC, this also the start date for the one year warranty. If you have any issues – please contact the CON office.
- The installation of additional lights for the Children’s Program Room was completed on 2/24
- MLS continues to work with OKC on outstanding Warranty issues and the final bollard design.
- Upcoming projects include work on the drainage channel, shades on the west windows.
