Construction Updates - March 20th, 2015

Find below a recap of the work of the CON Office since our last report, 2015-05, dated 3/20/15.

• GENERAL
  
  • LONG RANGE CAPITAL PROJECTS REVIEW
    • Tim, Kay, Anne, Karen, Lloyd & Todd have “finalized” our review of the long range CIP needs of MLS.   View Long Range Planning Committee Agenda - it addresses projects at CH, JN, DC, BI, BE, ED, AL, VI, RE & CT.
    • This will be presented to MLC - Long Range Planning Committee on April 6^th at BI at 3:00.
    • I placed “finalized” in quotes because, while we have the information needed for OKC’s CIP & GO Bond request process as well as some preliminary information for other cities, this document reflects only our “current” assessment.  A more in depth review will be undertaken in conjunction with the updating of the strategic plan.

• CAPITOL HILL – DESIGN WORK
  
  • The Final Preliminary Report was submitted on 3/18 and will be presented to OKC Council for approval on April 7.
  • A “kickoff” meeting to start the CD (or Construction Documents) Phase has been scheduled for 4/13.
  • While we have several intermediate steps over the next few months, the current schedule calls for the plans to be issued for bidding on 11/24

• CAPITOL HILL – TEMP SPACE
  
  • On 4/27, MLS provided a lease to the TEMPLY DE ALBANZA Church for the use of their gym at 301 SW 25^th St. 
  • We understand that they have accepted the lease in principle but that some issues still need to be worked out.
  • We anticipate taking the final a lease with to MLC in April.
  • The design work for the temporary space will start 4/21 and the plan will be issued for bidding in mid-May.

• DEL CITY
  
  • Tim met with the City Manager of Del City on 3/11.   
  • MLS is considering hiring an architect to develop a detailed building program, which would be used in Del City RFQ process.
