Comprehensive guides project

Hello everyone!

One of the biggest reasons as to why Staff Association exists is to help us all be more awesome at our jobs. One way to do this is to compile guides on things like the deeper bits of CarlX, point of sale specifics and much, much more. The plan is to one day have a wiki (think Wikipedia) that can be kept up to date and go deeper than any printed guide can ever hope to go.

TL;DR: If you have a guide for one of the tools we use, share it here.

Question

Are you wanting new content or expanding on the originals? I don't even know who would have the editable versions of the originals. I think that NW re-edited the manual for Carl-X a year or two ago. I think that a former employee in I.T. made the manual for PC Reservation. O.P.A.C.'s is from 2014 and we have added many new features since that year. Illiad's is probably pretty current or the same - likely made by Pauline in ILL. Everything else on that page is Greg, Serials Technician.

Also, anything that still mentions Virtual Circulation Desk (VCircDesk) from Help Articles could be updated.

One could scour the F.A.Q. for some nuggets of wisdom.

Did any of this help or were you looking for man-hours?

Edit: It wouldn't hurt for the Staff to know which committees still exist and who is in them. Committees Page & Other Committees Page
Personally, I'd love for any training material that is given to New Hires to be available on the Intranet.
