Outside consultant?

This part of the packet stuck out to me:

"Lastly, we have engaged McAfee & Taft to review the Library’s personnel policies and make
recommendations for changes. These changes will be considered first by Library leadership, and then by the Commission’s Administrative and Personnel Committee. We hope to bring the entire personnel policy revision to the Commission in spring/summer of 2017."

Aren't we systematically going through all of the policies (personnel included)? Can someone speak to why we need an outside consultant to review our polices? Is this a law firm? Thanks!

Possibly the Classification

Possibly the Classification/Compensation study?

Outside consultant?

Hi Aaron,

During the process of systematically going through all of the policies, we realized that we (the Special Projects Librarians) didn't have the personnel or legal expertise to review the HUM policies. And, HUM didn't have the time to take on reviewing and drafting all of the policies during the rotation, so HUM hired McAfee & Taft to review them for the organization.

Thanks,
Vicki

That Seem Eerily Similar

I'm not sure why we are going thru our job descriptions when an outside consultant will be doing that shortly, either.

Thanks for the info!

I'm having trouble determining whether there are actual human therapists to visit in real life, or whether all my mental breakdowns would be handled online from an undisclosed location. I definitely like the 24/7 part!

CompPsych Corp

Sounds like something out of 1984 or Starship Troopers. I like it!
(I'd been thinking about trying the EAP sometime soon, so that section jumped out at me.)

ETA: could be Demolition Man. It definitely sounds like something out of some movie.
