Construction Updates - March 19, 2014
- ALMONTE
- You may recall that there has been some discussion about “building” a permanent Almonte library. OKC has suggested that MLS provide a “best guess” about the anticipated needs.
- BELLE ISLE - no update
- BETHANY - no update
- CAPITOL HILL
- A date (4/23) has been set for MLS to formally present our request for additional funding for CH.
- If approved, OKC and MLS will need to update the Building Program, the Project Agreement and the A/E contract. After this is completed, the design work can start in earnest.
- While schedules are a guess at best and an act of arrogance at worst, they are needed to outline responsibilities, define the sequence of activities and to create a road map. Once the design work is started, the process become a little more predictable. And while much will change, the following target date have been discussed - MLS Moves Out – April 2015
- If the move-out date holds, MLS will need to begin the planning process for this work sometime this summer.

- DOWNTOWN
- MLS met with OKC on 3/18 to review the 95% plans for the 180 project. This project will make significant changes our “front door”. These will include changes to the landscaping, sidewalk pattern and lighting.
- This work to be bid latter this spring and construction in front of the library is planned for the spring of 2015.
