Construction Updates - December 11, 2013

Capitol Hill

  • As noted earlier, Guernsey’s Programming Report dated 10/17/13 indicated that the projected probable cost significantly exceeds the current budget.  OKC & MLS continue to work on different options to strike a balance between budget, quality & quantity.   A meeting with OKC and MLS is scheduled for 12/12 to review funding options.

Del City

  • Del City has purchased the bowling alley land and has taken bids to have the building removed.  View Aerial of Area
  • NEXT STEP - Del City and MLS need to begin working on an A-E selection process, the A-E Request for Qualifications (RFQ), the Preliminary Program Requirements, and the Del City / MLS Project Agreement.

Downtown

  • 180 Project – Park Avenue
    • This project is in the final design phase
    • A proposed lighting plan has been submitted and is being reviewed by MLS.
    • The 95% complete plans & specification are to be provided for our review later this month.
  • Water Leaks – OKC & MLS continue to review the draft report which issued by Studio Architects.

Edmond Parking

  • In late November, St. Mary’s met with Edmond and agreed in principle to the idea of adding a driveway from the rock house to 1st Street. Their approval is contingent upon the details.
  • If executed, this would allow Jackson Street and the alley to be closed and about 17 parking spaces to be added.
  • The plan includes adding about 12 diagonal parking spaces on 1st street, south of the church
  • One of the 1st steps is confirming the scope and probable cost of the work.  An architect has been contracted to help with this and a proposal is expected on 12/13
  • Edmond and MLS will be meeting on 12/13 to review.

Jones

  • Work continues on the Design Development plans.

Northwest

Where is the "bowling alley land" located (I'm not familiar with Del City). I would assume due to purchase this is the selected location?

bollards

Michael my co-worker told me that the bollards
are the pillars to stop traffic, but why would
they need to be replaced on such a new construction?

NW Bollard Work

Thanks for asking Joan

The bollards, as designed by the architect, provided light but did not provide any protection for the walking customers. A “lighted –security” bollard is needed. OKC has acknowledged this and has indicated they will pay to for this work. OKC & MLS are working together to make this change.
