Health Information Specialists

Specialized training for twenty MLS staff members on a variety of health information resources available via the public library. The Level I Non-Health Sciences Specialization is achieved by participating in 4 of 6 classes from the Medical Library Association's (MLA) Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) offerings. Training sessions focus on such topics as nutrition, health of older adults and children, drug information resources and general health information resources.
