There is a rich tradition in the African-American community of ladies wearing their fanciest hats (crowns) to church, and Midwest City Library recognized that tradion by inviting customers to a tea (music, drinks, hors d'oeuvres), and the wearing of church hats was encouraged. This event was an unusual way to celebrate National Black History Month.
