DN has revamped programming to target the urban crowd moving into the area and to capture the lunchtime business customer

Community relationships

The former Manager of Operations at Del City began a relationship with the Chamber of Commerce that has been continued by the new manager. The current manager is working with the Chamber of Commerce and EastWord News to further promote the services of the Del City Library and the Metropolitan Library System.

Teens meet

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Club, for teens, met at least once per month during the year.

Computer chairs

We purchased two new computer chairs for the public computers.

X-Change Meeting - 2/20/12

Lynda Bahr shared information on the Come Read with Me program. The program continues to be a success across the system. In addition to its continued use and success, the program is even more important now that children who do not read at a 3rd grade level will not be promoted to the 4th grade.

MWC Garden Renovation

DVS helped secure a grant from the Midwest City Hospital Authority for the MWC Library to renovate its south-facing garden. The renovation will add sensory elements and seating to make it an inviting and comfortable space for customers to visit, relax, and learn.

Bethany visits increase

Bethany Library shows an increase in library visits since the beginning of the fiscal year, indicating the community continues to utilize this much needed resource.

Additional service hours

The library system added additional operating hours in spring 2012 at all 12 full service libraries and all 5 extension libraries.

Volunteer Management Software Updated

New Volunteer Management software implemented facilitating consistent access to profiles and available opportunties for current and new volunteers.
