Playaways are added to the library collection. They are mp3 players with full audiobooks already on it. No downloading. No CDs to load. Nothing. Just press play. They are so cool and so tiny! You can easily fit one in your pocket.
The public response has been overwhelmingly positive from customers as it greatly increased access to audio books.

Marketing, Planning Services, & Outreach worked on creating a Pinterest account and page. These departments work on curating content specifically for our customer base. Pins originate from our catalog and awesome sites around the web. Specialized boards have been created for specific types of content including Summer Reading, Titanic, Steampunk, Downton Abbey, and more!

Tax Forms page created as one stop shop for forms that can be printed in the library for Free. Other pages that have been updated are the Tax Assistance Pages, Playaways, and Winter Readfest.

Volunteers can now search for places to serve the Metropolitan Library System online by location, zip code, opportunities, or by just viewing all opportunities. The new system is more efficient for new and established volunteers who can also track their service hours by logging in and out each time they work.

A program in partnership with Small Business and SCORE helping customers prepare and plan to own their own businesses. Free seminar and workshops often follow. This program repeats at all of the libraries through out the year.
