What is Staff Association, you may ask?

Why, it is a voice to foster the welfare of the MLS staff by creating a safe forum for communication and unity.  In other words, we are an advocating committee for you.  We are here to:

• Listen to your questions, concerns, or suggestions
• Discuss any challenges or obstacles that you may face on the front lines, and determine solutions
• Facilitate a stronger connection between locations
• Provide a means for presenting concerns and suggestions to the administration for serious consideration
• Help staff to feel supported, recognized and appreciated
•  Support and improve library programs and services 

Our Mission Statement is: 'Staff Association is a voice to foster the welfare of the MLS Staff by creating a safe forum for communication and unity.'

There are plans in the works to open an "Ask the Staff Association" forum on the intranet.  We intend for this forum to be a more informal platform for staff to voice opinions, make suggestions, or ask questions.

The current Staff Association officers are:

• Kelley Riha- Membership Chairperson
• Cindy R. Nigg- Treasurer 
• Dre'a Gates- Secretary

You can email any of the officers or your branch representatives with questions or concerns. We encourage all staff to attend one of our meetings. Attached you will find the scheduled dates and locations for our 2017 meetings along with the Staff Association fundraisers/charity events months. Please note our December 2017 meeting date is still to be determined. We look forward to meeting you!
