  • Single Point of Contact for Volunteers- Heidi
    • What is the Volunteers SPOC?
      • Person at every location to be expert and point of contact for volunteers at the location
      • SPOC knowledgeable on software
      • SPOC holds volunteer supervisors accountable
      • Plans the overall program at the location
      • ALMs will be the SPOC at their location
    • All locations would have volunteer opportunities open and available all the time
    • “Summer Supers” and other local volunteer supervisors will still be a thing – SPOC will represent the entire branch to the system

Soundtrack Your Brand - Kimberly

  • Soundtrack Your Brand is a music streaming service
  • All branches will receive unless opted out (HR, JN, LU, NP, WR)
  • Vendor creating invoice
  • All locations can play as much music as they want without running afoul of copyright
  • SYB allows lots of flexibility with playing music
  • As soon as the vendor is ready, OES putting in payment for all locations
  • Will be taken from location program budget
    • Money has been added specifically for SYB; not being taken from funds budgeted for other things

OKC Broadway – Kimberly

  • Pages to Stages information has gone out
  • Three locations will be receiving the Grinch in person

Reviewing flyers/programs- Mark

  • It is important to have a review of promotional materials created in the branch
    • Particularly with things shared and promoted system-wide
  • Check for accuracy (time, date, registration, etc.) and impartiality
  • We need to remain impartial in the information we offer, and the groups we bring in to promote information, particularly around potentially sensitive topics like politics/voting.

Trauma-Informed Scenarios- Tracie

  • Discussion related to the scenarios in the Trauma-Informed Workbook

Location Sharing

  • BE – Voices and Votes prep; Friends Fall Book Sale prep
  • BI – New Children’s Librarian starting on 10/28; Spice take home kit has been very popular
  • CH – New Librarian coming soon; Fiestas De Las Americas – engaged with over 350 people
  • CIS – Preparing for 2025 holiday closures; ensure branches aren’t scheduling things when we will be off (even if dates aren’t blocked off yet)
  • CLs – Outreach (Jones Oldtimers, Harrah Halloween Event); lots of notarizations
  • COMM – Gooden Group taking exterior photos of library; Implementing brand standards, feedback not personal; Welcome email going out to each new cardholder
  • DVS – Fall Book Sale at BE late in October; Dolly Day planning; Jodi Piccoult in April
  • DN – New computer tables; exterior guest lockers; new No Trespassing/Loitering signage; upcoming Trunk or Treats; WR 100th Anniversary planning (2025)
  • ED – Lots of notarizations; new sorter in the works
  • MC – Citizenship classes have begun; Trunk or Treat (with YMCA and DC); School outreach
  • NW – National Coming Out Day event
  • OES – Summer Reading Subcommittees volunteer response was good – 31 people working together; Winter Mugs coming soon!
  • RE – Hispanic Heritage Month activities; conducting outreach
  • SO – Halloween Scavenger Hunt (created with Cricut), Upcoming Fall Festival program
  • VI – New roof construction starts soon; Storytime under the stars in the new planetarium structure
  • WA – Tremendous growth in outreach events at Putnam City school district locations
