Welcome and Introductions

Happy notes were shared

Mark presented GX Updates

GSLT is working on the best format for presenting the data collected from guests to managers and RD’s for review.  The current timeline for presentation is once a month.  General feedback so far has been positive.  Mark is working on creating generic response templates for guests who wish to leave their contact information with a positive review.  Paper surveys in English and Spanish will be made available soon.  An Internal peer to peer survey for departments is in progress.  Confidentiality is a priority.

Notary Training

Risa is working on getting online Notary training.

Social Worker

Erin reported that we did not receive any social work interns for this next year. Currently, Del City library has a DHS worker, the DN library has a Housing Navigator.  We are still in discussions about whether the DHS worker will be able to expand her presence beyond DC to other libraries.

Manager’s Handbook Activity

Managers brainstormed what information they would like to have in a Handbook.

Larry Updates and Q&A

Salaries – The system is exploring a market adjustment this year which will depend on whether we see an increase in the money that we get from the County. It would also require Commission approval.

Documentation - Larry presented Manager’s with a strong expectation for documenting performance of employees on PD’s.  Documentation should also include if no action was taken regarding an incident. Out of respect to the employee, feedback needs to be honest and direct. It is important for our system to be consistent.

Strategic planning - we will begin polling our community for feedback to help with strategic plans.  Looking at utilizing online, phone, QR codes, paper formats and in person surveys.

Brave Books - event at DC received compliments from organizer of the event.

Location Visits - Larry will be scheduling a session at each location.  He plans to come to fix what needs to be fixed.  He will be looking at facilities, staff/personnel issues.  If you have any needs, this is the time to ask.

Literary Voices – there will be 3 events this year.  Events will happen during National Library Week April 7 – April 13, 2024.  Kwame Alexander on 4/7, Kevin Kwan on 4/11, James Patterson on 4/9.  The events will support the Dolly Parten Imagination Library endowment that will fund this program forever.

Patron Point / Aspen – work has begun to integrate these programs.

GX 2.0 gathering feedback - with the goal of building guest relationships and asking our guests what they want from their library.

ALA – There was a question as to whether ODL would retain ALA membership this year. Update: ODL will be retaining their ALA membership.

High Praise from Larry - Thank you.  It is you all who make it happen. Larry is looking forward to spending more time with us. We do a lot of good things that we should celebrate.
