Checkout limits & overriding – Erin The 4-day quarantine may have a few customers over the 100 item limit. Work with these customers on a case by case basis, if the customer is in good standing you may override and let them continue to check out. Updated movie guidelines – Erin The RDs have set some parameters for using movies in programs. These guidelines will be shared with the Engagement Managers. Guidelines include not just showing movies as a program but using it to supplement other aspects of a program. Use age appropriate movies according to MPAA ratings. Do not use unrated movies as these may not be appropriate. See Erin’s email for details. Shelving Training feedback and next steps – Risa/Tricia Updating the documents to streamline the process. The RDs will be doing the training. We have divided the list out into the different positions to clear up the timeline and make it easier to see what is required for each position. Document updated for sorter or mixed shelving. Staff have their own document to record their progress. If staff are transferring to another location or position, will shelf one cart in each area and if 100% then they are done. Grab & Go – how's it (grab &) going? Customer mask issues? Curbside? Managers shared how things were going at each location. Most had the same experience and issues. Masks are being worn by most customers without any problems. Many are not wearing them properly, staff have put out signs reminding customers of proper way to wear masks. Curbside has slowed in many locations but still being used. |

Annual Reviews – open discussion (questions, concerns?) Some staff are concerned that they haven’t had enough opportunity to meet the customer service goals. Also, staff concerned that they have not had many opportunities to exceed in many of the review areas. Remind staff that we have several months of normal operations before the pandemic shut down. When writing the appraisals, remember to write them so that someone not familiar with the staff person will be able to understand why they received the score they were given. |

Experience Passes Planning Discussion – Risa No MOU needed for the passes. Late fees will be charged. $1 per day to a maximum of $60. Each library will have on pass that cannot be placed on hold. Each pass is good for 7 days. Customers will return the pass as they would any item. Passes will not be quarantined but will be cleaned and be ready for checkout immediately. Reporting/Accommodations - Mark HR is responsible for deciding on what accommodations can be given for staff due to medical or personnel reasons. Managers may send staff hone if they are in need of an accommodation. Mangers should contact HR who will contact the staff member to see if the library can make the appropriate accommodation. Managers should be careful not to set a precedent on accommodation that may make it hard for them keep the library open and operating if the same accommodation was given to each staff member.
Department Reports:
Access Manager’s meeting next week. Have launched the online Access workshops. Reminder that there is prework before each session and a checklist that must be completed before the next workshop can be attended.
New halftime staff has started. Phone traffic starting to return to normal levels. If the phone servers go down again, a work through has been developed so that CIS can continue the duties.
Larry will have completed his visits to all the library locations this week. He is interested in attending staff meetings if staff have questions for him. The glass sneeze guards have been ordered. If you have a special shape need, those guards may take longer to get. The Demco guards should be here by the middle of September.
