Program Description:
Come use your problem-solving skills to build and program a LEGO Mindstorm Robot. We give you the problem; you solve it with your robot. We will discuss how real robots solve problems in our everyday world and how we build and program a LEGO Mindstorm Robot to do the same. So bring your imagination, your creativity, and your problem-solving skills to this special LEGO Robotics Challenge 3 week class!

Program Justification
Is a program the best way to meet the expressed need or present information?:
Yes
Does the program fit the goals of the MLS?:
Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
The theme for March is Technology creations and inventors. We will be discussing inventors and technology creations, as well as having them build their own technology creations!. It also meets the core value of MLS that states we encourage an atmosphere that uses entertainment to learn.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.
Why will this program be successful?:
It will be similar to a camp where the tweens will attend all 3 sessions to complete the LEGO Robotics challenge. I think it will be successful as many people are interested in our LEGO Robotics Club that is once a month and this gives them a chance to use our robots 3 weeks in a row!
How will success be measured/determined?:
Success will be measured by attendance and involvement of those that are in attendance.

I'm a little concerned about Spring Break being in the middle, but I'm interested to try this approach to LEGO Robotics instead of the once a month tactic.
