Program Description: 
The presidential elections take place on November 8, 2016. Only 55% of the voting age population participates in presidential elections. From September 26th to October 2nd, I would like to set up a table in the lobby (similar to the summer reading table) with voter registration forms. Citizens must be registered 24 days before the election date to participate, so this allows ample time for their cards to be mailed to them. The table will be manned by volunteers if possible. Lindsay and I will reach out to local high schools and college government classes to see if they would like to volunteer in 1 or 2 hour shifts. I called the county election board and they said that all we would need to do is print off the PDF applications on the website and take them to their offices.

Many people don't have the time to register to vote, or they forget. It will be an easy yet important service to provide.

Final Comments: 
To ensure the protection of members' privacy on their registration forms, I think the applications should be kept in some kind of safe throughout the duration of the event. Depending on how many we get, I could try to drop off the applications every couple of days to the election board.
