Program Description: 
Join with other kids as we read and learn with one of the library’s fabulous animal books. At our club meeting, we will have a special animal guest from Critter Tales. Hoo,hoo! Our book for this month will be Owls by Gail Gibbons. The book themes and reading level are appropriate for grades three and above. Read the book before attending. Reserve your copy early from the library. Some copies of the book will be available at the Information Desk.

Kids' Book Club fills a need for middle and upper elementary student to explore books and have an opportunity to discuss them with peers. The library has the Rocket Readers program for children who may be struggling learning to read. The Kids' Book Club is a compliment to Rocket Readers as the program for readers who read well and excel. Kids' Book Club encourages them to use their reading knowledge to explore the world.

Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.

This program has the important motivational element of live animals which has a proven attraction and motivates learning.

Children come to the book club having read the book, so they are already beginning to use library resources before the event. They will be offered resources to use to further their knowledge after the program.
