Program Description: 
Sharing in playtimes is an excellent way to help children build social skills, promote learning and discover that the library is a destination for fun! We will conclude our play time with a brief educational story time with music, rhymes, movement, flannel board activities and a brief story. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness. Choose the 9:30 or 10:30 session. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness.

Play and Story Times help prepares a child mentally and socially to enter formal schooling, gives them resources for mental development. The use of books and nursery rhymes in the program introduces many pre-reading skills that will prepare children to begin to read at the next stage of development.

Why will this program be successful?: 
Young children will be provided an enriched play environment that will help them develop mentally and socially. It introduces them to books, music and nursery rhymes.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
Attendance of eight to sixteen children and their parent. Families will want to come back to the library for future play and story times.
