Program Description: 
A story time just for you at your neighborhood library! Introduce your little ones to the library and create excitement about reading. Attending story times and using resources of the library helps build a foundation for your child’s future success in school. Connect with others while enjoying books, music, rhymes, a flannel board story and craft. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness.

How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?: 
Story and craft times have a successful record of attendance by families at Bethany Library. Story Times promote early literacy skills including narrative skills, letter knowledge, print awareness, phonological awareness, print motivation and vocabulary. These build a foundation that prepare children for learning to read.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?: 
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?: 
Families enjoy and value story and craft times. They value the resources available to them when they come to the library.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
Attendance of 10 to 18 children and their caregivers at story and craft time. Families will demonstrate an interest in coming to additional programs. Families will utilize resources of the library during their visit for story time and utilize library resources at home.
