Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
This program will be a fun way for families to get together and enjoy a learning activity to promote language and reading over Spring Break as part of Rocket Readers.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.
Why will this program be successful?:
It has been successful in the past. Everyone participating can enjoy the event in a friendly non competitive atmosphere where children and their parents can relax and use library provided materials.

Success is partially determined by attendance numbers but this will vary depending on other events, weather and unforeseen circumstances. Other key factors will be whether those attending enjoy themselves and develop language skills through the experience.

Yes, order through RFP or shop locally for additional supplies.
Supply/Shopping List:
I have several Scrabble Boards and similar games available which the library purchased last year. However, I may also purchase Scrabble games to give away as drawing prizes again this year. I am budgeting for 2 games each for younger children and 2 for age 8-11.
Final Comments:
I would very much like to run this program as all participants enjoyed it last Spring Break. Children from Rocket Readers brought their parents along and volunteers brought their friends. I would also expect a few drop in families depending on the weather. Spring Break 2015 we had 24 attend. It is useful to have pre registration to get an idea about numbers.
