New program: ‘Ebony Voices’ and ‘Animal Tales for Little People’
Ebony Voices is a storytelling unit of Rhythmically Speaking that incorporates music and a womanly style in the telling of stories from the perspective of women. Women have been birthin’, burpin’ and buildin’ a bold new body of people as they redefine the boundaries of their time. Ebony Voices deal with a wide array of issues and themes real and imagined, projected in song and story. Ebony Voices specialize in original songs replete with a cappella harmonies that plant their stories in the hearts and minds of the audience.
Animal Tales for Little People is a story time for 3-5 year olds complete with stories, song, finger play, sign and dance. Let’s go “Walking Through the Jungle”, and dancing with the bears. There was a little turtle Who lived in a box. He swam in the puddles and climbed on the rocks. He snapped at the mosquito, He snapped at the flea. He snapped at the minnow, And he snapped at me.
Storytelling - All ages, works well with special populations
