Work Description: 

1) Pioneer Food History (in costume)
2) Nature Crafts - participants will have choice of 3 different crafts
3) Outdoor Journaling - learn how to journal and make own journal cover

Need one table for display items for program 1. Need tables for participants to work ongoing projects in programs 2 & 3.
Background/Hobbies: 
Luann is a conservation and environment educator with over 25 years experience teaching in workshops and seminars across the United States. A native Oklahoman, Luann has a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology/Wildlife and a Masters of Science in Science Education, both from Oklahoma State University. She was a regional coordinator of the Women in the Outdoors program of the National Wild Turkey Federaton for two years and education specialist with the Oklahoma department of Wildlife Conservation for 12 years. Other work experience includes: outdoor writer, advisor for wildlife ecology students at OSU and personnel specialist with US army Coprs of Engineers. She has done TV programs, seminars and workshops on wildgame and Dutch oven cooking throughout the country. These classes have also been presented with a historical context as well as with "leave no trace" guidelines. She teaches college credit courses in Pioneer Food History and Food Preparation. Other courses she teaches include: Lewis & Clark Revisited, The Chisholm Trail, Hows and Whys of Journaling. Luann is a facilitator in the Leopold Education Project (LEP). She is also the LEP State Coordinator for Oklahoma and teaches college credit courses in LEP. In 2009, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Okla. Association of Environmental Education. In 2004, she was honored as outstanding Alumnus of the Oklahoma State University Zoology Dept. In 1998, she was selected as the National LEP Educator of the Year. Professional memberships include: Outdoor Writers Association of America. BS in Wildlife/Zoology, MS in Science Education 12 years with State Wildlife Dept. in Education, 2 years with Nat'l Wild Turkey Federation Certified Hunter Education and Bow Hunting Council of Oklahoma Educator 1988 Nat'l LEP Educator of the Year
