Information and more about joining the workforce for the teen who's thinking ahead.
I am a youth specialist with Workforce Oklahoma Career Connection Center, 7401 N.E. 23. I work with youth, ages 16 to 21, under programs funded by the federal Workforce Investment Act. I am a certified Employment and Training Specialist and have worked in the employment and training field for the last five years. Before that I was a Staff Writer at The Daily Oklahoman for 13 years. At The Oklahoman, I covered police, fire, federal and district courts, county politics and wrote features. I have won several awards as a writer and am now working on a book drawing From my experiences as a journalist.
Space or Technical Considerations:
I will need a screen for a power point presentation. I will bring my own laptop & projector.
Background/Hobbies:
I have four years experience in career exploration, job development and case management. My new position as a youth specialist at the Career connection Center is working exclusively with youth as a case manager. I have worked both with youth and adults
