Programs aim to create awareness and love of local nature. Most have literature component and are hands-on and engaging, many also include art.
-For 2011 programs that fit within SR themes for K-3 focus on backyard exploration, listening to nature's voices, identifying tracks, animal poems, water poems, biographical, mud play, secret places, bird stories from different cultures.
- 4-6 gr. programs focus on listening, tracking, nature journals, global poems about Earth, animal poems, biographical.
- Teen programs include guerrilla gardening, stamping, maps, compasses and orienteering, navigating by nature, GPS and Geo-caching, letter-boxing
- Book Club Programs: Sand County Almanac, John Muir Journals, Lewis and Clark Journals, Charles & Emma
- Adult Book Clubs: The Green Belt Movement, Tour of the Prairies, The Singing Wilderness, The Monkey Wrench Gang, Where the Bluebird Sings to the Lemonade Springs.
