Winter Reading recap – Kristin – Ahead on number of participants and books read, final numbers coming soon, increased participation and social media engagement, good feedback so far about prizes, drawing prizes coming soon, thank you all for the social media content you created and for promoting the program
1000 Books Before Kindergarten – Kristin – program is continuing, new supplies have been ordered, Kristin can provide staff refresher trainings as needed
Summer Reading – Kristin and Emily – Oceans of Possibilities theme, training coming during the month of April, prizes have been ordered, display items are arriving in OES, systemwide program dates are being compiled, ordering more books for adults this year, Read it Forward recipient is Smart Start of Central Oklahoma, digital SR information through parent portals instead of school postcards, will have rack cards for outreach promo
Summer volunteers – teen volunteers will be in person this summer, reach out to Heidi with questions
Outreach – Teresa – check your outreach kits for supplies and let Teresa know what you need, please remember to record your outreach events and activities in Library Market
Sharing and Programming Discussion
SO – Fan Fiction Fan Art contest ends this week, working on school visits
AL – lots of spring break programming and activities, zine-making, Nintendo Switch, financial literacy program in April, Earth Day blackout poetry kit printed on seed paper, needs second staff member for Zoom anime club in April and May
MC – brand new and looking forward to learning from everyone
RE – Throwback Thursday game days, volunteer interest party, side hustles and passive income program
CH – flower-growing kit, poetry workshop in April, after school movie club
DC – Teen Book Drop continuing, going on 2 years of virtual Dungeons & Dragons program, art showcase as rotating display in teen area, herb garden take home kit, game night twice a month, partnership with Del City Middle School
CL – galaxy in a bottle, restarting teen services and offerings
VI – getting ready for Summer Reading, monthly take home kits about Intermediate Sequoyah titles, passive programs in teen space, rebuilding in-person programming, chess club, coding club
NW – Pi/Pie Day kit about math and baking, coding club, teen book subscription boxes, YA book club (attended by adults for now), Earth Day recycled planter, looking for passive programs in teen space
DN – continuing take home kits as it works best for community/location, teen book subscription boxes, virtual Geek Con in May – use universal tag, teen art display formed organically in the teen space
WA – LEGO challenges, first D&D program
ED – cartooning and how to draw anime characters, club for 5th-8th grade, Camp Half Blood, teens curating book boxes
SCR – Special Collections looking for collaborative opportunities with programming, please come for a tour if you want to learn more about the department!
OUT – getting more invites for outreach events, positive community feedback from guests at booksale
SCR – going into contract season
OES – Teresa has LEGO Star Wars activity books if you want any for programs or prizes, please reach out to Emily if you want hardcover YA giveaways for your book boxes
