  • Meeting Room Updates – Q&A – Mark & Tim
    • Created a draft update to language on the meeting room page on the website
    • Highlighting recent changes – suggested new language below
      • Room reservation rates are $10/hour.
      • All events must be free and open to the public. No personal events, like baby showers or birthday parties are allowed.
      • Your reservation time must include set up and clean up time and you are responsible for the set up and clean up of the room.
      • AV Equipment must be requested at the time of reservation. Training will be provided in advance, if needed. Otherwise the group will be responsible for providing a person to operate the equipment.
      • The library offers up to:
        • XX rectangular tables
        • XX round tables
        • XX chairs
      • Please note that this library has a limited number of tables and chairs, which are available on a "first come, first served basis."
  • CIS would like to confirm the number of tables and chairs available at each branch
    • Will be emailing branch managers to get updated info
  • “Breaking News” (last-minute updates)
    • February 1st is no longer mandatory for full reopen - moving that date to March 1st
    • Telework clarifications - we are not moving to emergency telework status
    • Consider ways to spread out our work physically throughout the building
      • Goals are to stay safe and stay open
  • COVID protocol reminders - RDs
    • Remember to email [email protected] email if a staff member has been exposed or is experiencing symptoms - HUM will take it from there
    • Encourage staff not to come to work if they are sick - we can send staff members who are unwell home
    • Everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing
    • We do not automatically close if disinfecting is required
    • Supervisors are responsible for following through on COVID protocols and instructions as well as communicating this to staff
    • Need to be thinking about our minimum staffing levels
  • Changes to Shelving Training and Access Workshops – Risa and Tricia
    • Access workshops
      • Not requiring Library Aides to attend workshops unless they will work the front desk
      • Reducing the prework and shifting to covering concepts
      • Removing Carl Connect training from the workshops
      • Should supplement the hands on learning
    • Shelving training and shelving order
      • 18/20 passing score for trainees
      • Allows staff members to use common sense in making shelving decisions
      • Priority on ensuring the customer can find the item
      • Give trainee the benefit of the doubt when scoring shelving assessment
  • Budget preparation - Risa
    • Reminder that budget season is approaching
    • Be thinking about what we need
  • Food and drink in the library - LaVetta
    • Remind us that these are no longer in the ROC
    • Take down any signs prohibiting food and drink, including at the computers
    • Address individual situations as they fit into the current ROC
  • Safe Place preparation - Mark
    • Mark shared a slide presentation
    • Launch set for April 1st
    • Systemwide and local training will occur in March
    • Signs are coming and will be coordinating with maintenance to install the signs after the launch in April
    • Added Safe Place Request to "Other" Infractions section in PITS
    • Training will be revisited every March
    • Pivot will conduct site visits as part of their accreditation process
