EPS Updates
Emily - Transforming Teen Services Training/Project READY– Please sign up if interested, Emily has emailed out information. Computational Thinking, Connected Learning, and Ages & Stages trainings under the Transforming Teen Services umbrella are also of interest to Children’s Services staff, especially those working with upper elementary students/tweens
Jessica - Youth Poetry Contest had over 200 entries, Joy Harjo visit on Sunday, Earth Day events happening, 123 PWM kits throughout May while supplies last, Pride Month systemwide programming – kits from EPS and story times, GeekCon Dance Party is Saturday May 1 and flyers are in All Engagement SharePoint, Captain Supertooth is Delta Dental Foundation mascot and doing virtual visits about good oral hygiene with dental care packages for participants
Teresa - Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May, have two story times, Linda Sue Park author visit, please use universal tag in Library Market
Kristin - Online Story times ending at end of April, Neighborhood Arts – at Myriad Gardens and Festivals of the Arts and virtual options (SFA, Alegria Real, Lucas Ross, Mr. Puppet, Lyric Theatre, Poetry and Chill Kids), Pride story time
Kimberly – budget meetings this week, requesting Family Place training for 2 staff, Engagement trainings, in process of Outreach and EPS merging, purchasing lendable items to assist with outdoor programming and outdoor outreach

Summer Reading
Training – Emily & Heidi led a 30 minute training for Summer Reading 2021 and talked about prizes, virtual volunteering, and more.

Andrew (ED) - virtual story times have been going well, planning possible outdoor program with Hooplahoma in June, excited about Summer Reading
Brittney (ED) - Star Wars kit for May the Fourth, turtle kit on Zoom
Laura (BE) - thinking about outdoor family craft program, book request bundles, outdoor yoga, kids’ health day at YMCA, participated in school time capsule, want to have Bethany mayor share about Summer Reading prizes
Tammy (BE) - excited about first Summer Reading
Amy (AL) - very busy with take home kits AKA library happy meals, brainstorming about Summer Reading
Bridget (RE) - shout out to Reagan for her creative programming
Reagan (RE) - reaching out to community partners for summer, thinking about Summer Reading projects and outdoor ideas
Chelsee (DN) - Summer Reading take-home kits, reaching out to schools for virtual outreach visits, brainstorming outdoor ideas
Kate (DN) - animal-themed Tails & Tales take-home kits, GeekCon events
Sally (VI) - talking about outdoor programs for the summer to encourage Summer Reading sign-up and as a stepping point to re-engage with families through programming
Juliet (VI) - possible star party, tissue painting kit, flip book animation
Tara (MC) - working on kits for summer, creating video for Pride wall hanging, looking forward to more programming
Carol (MC) - possible story walk, thank you all for sharing your ideas for summer!
Meg (DC) - have beautiful new outdoor space and lawn, jumbo-sized yard games, visit to Section 8 housing complex to promote Summer Reading, science camp outside
Tess (NW) - Elephant & Piggie paper lantern, customers are ready for in-person programming and socializing with each other
Robin (NW) - superhero straw craft kit, Incredible Journey with Blue Thumb/Oklahoma Conservation Commission, want to do a lady bug release
Cheryll (SO) - yoga through Zoom, nature and gardening take-home kits for April, looking for paint or chalk that can draw in grass (spray chalk?), excited to see more customers again soon, thank you for teacher training for Summer Reading and videos/prizes
Katherine (BI) - looking at doing at least one outdoor story time this summer, scavenger hunt/geocache series in service area, looking at doing story time bags for participants to take home from outdoor programming
Gloria (CH) - virtual outreach to schools, K-pop panel for GeekCon, Spoticus Around the World
Mary (CL) - de-stress fest kit for grade school age, excited to do programming outdoor space at Choctaw, in communication with outreach partners
Shana (CL) - Beyond the Book project with dinosaur books
Ashley (HR) - poetry kit for 5-12 year olds with composition notebook and other resources, promoting Summer Reading
Kellie (SPP) - please help promote Summer Reading teacher training before the end of school this spring
Kristin (EPS) - six locations have applied to be summer food program locations with grab & go meals
Heidi (DVS) - no volunteering until in-person programming is allowed
