November & December 2018

Deluxe Market

Date: November 24, 2018

Time: 11a – 5p

Location: Leadership Square (Downtown OKC)

Number of Staff needed: 1 per shift

Shifts: 11a – 2:30p; 2:30 – 5p

Staff Signed up:

Event Description:  We will have some space close to the OKCReads booth for a popup library. Outreach will supply our reading rug and books for kids to sit and read or check out. Please arrange to bring your laptop or iPad, there will be a hotspot available in the Outreach kit.

Encylopmedia

Date: November 29th 8a-5p & 30th from 8a-1p

Time: Thursday, 8a-5p and Friday 8a-1p

Location: Cox Convention, Oklahoma City

Number of Staff needed: 2 per shift

Shifts: Thursday: 7:30a -11:30p (this shift will set up); 11:30 – 3:30p; 3:00p – 5:30p (this shift will take down). Friday: 8:00a – 10:30a (setup); 10:30a – 1:00p (takedown, remove)

Event Description:  The 38th annual Encylo-Media Conference has boasted an attendance of close to 2,000 educators from across the state and 150+ vendor booths. The educators include teachers, tech directors, library media specialists, administrators, teachers of gifted, counselors, technology center staff, colleges of education, and public librarians. The booths cover a wide range including: technology, library media, administrative, distance learning and curriculum. Speakers are selected to keep attendees updated on current and upcoming trends for technology and education.

Santa Saturdays

Date: Dec 1 & Dec 8

Time:  8a – 5p

Location: Myriad Gardens, Devon Lawn

Number of Staff needed: 3-6 staff for each Saturday

Shifts: 7:30a -11a; 11a – 2:30p; 2:30 – 5:30p

Staff Signed up:

Event Description: Devon’s Saturday’s with Santa will expand into the Gardens again this year; families can enjoy food trucks, FREE admission to the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory, and performances.  Holiday decorations, floral arrangements and festive displays will adorn the Bridge, while the outdoor Meinders Terrace will be decked with boughs of holly and greenery, making beautiful winter backdrop for your family photos.  While you’re here, be sure to visit the Devon Ice Rink and our other holiday attractions. The library is invited to provide a pop-up library for this event.
